Peter Boulden
0:00:00
Are you sure that?

Peter Boulden
0:00:02
I see that red light now.

Peter Boulden
0:00:04
Yeah.

Peter Boulden
0:00:05
Okay, welcome back to Bulletproof Dental Practice Podcast. This is actually take two because yours truly is quite the dumbass. We are here at the Dinhinman. I am sitting here with Dr. Rich Constantine. Craig is on the phone. And I just blew it, you guys. I literally made the most rookie mistake on the planet. I did not hit the red button to make it red and make it record. So not only did I waste the Bulletproof Hygiene Gal's time, Craig's time, but our steam gas time as well. I blew it. And Rich, I'm so sorry. So it was kinda funny until I felt really red in the face, like embarrassed. And now it's not so funny. Craig, are you still there? Yeah, I'm still here. What I would have done if I were you

Craig Spodak
0:00:44
is I would have just kept rolling with it, and then just like ended it.

Peter Boulden
0:00:47
No, because it's gold. We've been trying to have Rich on for a while, so I wasn't going to fake my way through it. You know, fall on the sword. So for those of you listening, again, we are at Hinman Live. We are sitting at a round table. It is the Bulletproof Hygiene Girls plus myself, Rich Constantine, who is out of Greenville. Many of you know him. He's the YouTube sensation for his Drake dance, right?

Rich Constantine
0:01:17
In My Feelings Challenge, yeah.

Rich Constantine
0:01:18
What is it called?

Rich Constantine
0:01:19
In My Feelings Challenge.

Peter Boulden
0:01:21
In My Feelings Challenge. I can't even…

Peter Boulden
0:01:23
I remember that move.

Peter Boulden
0:01:24
And then Craig is sitting in Delray on the YouTube aspect and we are finally recording… I'm not YouTube, I'm sorry, the Bluetooth aspect of this mixer board we are finally

Peter Boulden
0:01:33
recording.

Peter Boulden
0:01:34
My energy is still a level 10. You're at a 9.9987 on energy. Yes. It's just good you just got a little bit of energy on the first take. Yes. Like rapid fire. It was amazing. It was too much. If every day you were like this, you'd be like, you'd be like the president of the ADA or something. Yeah, it's almost like I got a hold of like some kind of illegal substances or something. It's like I was just jittery. But I'm chill now. I got that out of my system. You know what it might have been? It might have been the nervousness of stardom next to my right. I'm kidding you, but Rich, we did get to know each other. Remember I said I hit record without getting to know you at all? We like to go in just raw. But now I know you a little bit, since it's take two. Feels good. So we're going to have to kind of back out. I think we're talking about, get out your phone right now and Google Rich Constantine, dancing dentist, right? Just so you have some context. We are not going to be talking about you as the dancing dentist going forward, just so

Rich Constantine
0:02:39
you know.

Peter Boulden
0:02:40
It's all good. Right?

Rich Constantine
0:02:42
Because I've said that now, what, 12 times?

Rich Constantine
0:02:43
It's all good, man.

Peter Boulden
0:02:44
He's a cool dude, I can just tell you that.

Rich Constantine
0:02:46
We would have never met had I not been a dentist.

Peter Boulden
0:02:48
This is true, this is true. Well, this is true. So So rich we're gonna you're gonna have to tell your story again. No problem Tell me it from from ground up you were practicing one day and then tell tell the story of your gals

Rich Constantine
0:03:00
Challenging you to record this go ahead. All right, ladies in my office have been wanting me to do the in my feelings challenge and I Wanted to play along but I couldn't bring myself to dance in front of them So I wait when waited till they went to lunch one day put my phone up on the counter, and I did the dance. They liked it, put it on our Facebook page. End of story.

Peter Boulden
0:03:21
End of story. And the end of story was, it got up on the Facebook page, and then other people started, obviously, sharing it, right? And then from there, it just went haywire. And celebrities, you said the biggest, probably notable, was Steve Harvey. See, Sharisa thought that Ellen had picked up on it.

Rich Constantine
0:03:42
Ellen did, but she was on break. So they weren't filming.

Peter Boulden
0:03:48
Wait, was this COVID?

Rich Constantine
0:03:49
No, no, no, no. They just, they have seasons when they film.

Peter Boulden
0:03:52
I was like, man.

Rich Constantine
0:03:53
I learned this as well.

Peter Boulden
0:03:54
Okay, so she was on break. So she picked up on it, but the timing wasn't right because of the, got it.

Rich Constantine
0:03:59
Right.

Peter Boulden
0:04:00
All right, so Craig, fire in because my energy is back to normal levels.

Craig Spodak
0:04:08
So first of all, I know we have a mutual friend, I think. Who was it that connected us originally?

Peter Boulden
0:04:16
Elijah.

Rich Constantine
0:04:17
I think it was Elijah Desmond.

Craig Spodak
0:04:20
Elijah.

Rich Constantine
0:04:21
Yeah, yeah.

Craig Spodak
0:04:22
So unfortunately you came down, you got a chance to see the office though, right? You actually walked around here. Oh yeah, beautiful office.

Rich Constantine
0:04:26
Pink bunny in the parking lot.

Craig Spodak
0:04:29
Yeah, yeah, thank you. You got it. Thanks, buddy. But I want to connect with you. Hopefully you come down to Florida again. I'm always actually up in Greenville. My aunt lives in Chalmers, which is right there. I was just in Greenville for New Year's. My buddy lives there as well, so we'll link up. I have something I want to ask you about. Tell me about, like I was doing some research on you a little while ago and I saw that unfortunately, Trish, your wife, her mother, lost you to ovarian cancer and then like tragically, like within the same year you lost your father. Is that, did I get that story right?

Rich Constantine
0:05:04
Yeah, so that's probably the most positive thing that came out of all this is, well backing up, during the first year that we moved to South Carolina, within 18 months of each other, we lost, we both lost a parent to cancer, her mom and my dad. And then, you know, that's hard for anybody, but, you know, starting out in dentistry and moving to a new place 10 hours away from where you grow up and the combination of those things, flying back and forth, having to be there for your family was tough. Once we saw how much attention we had from this video, which was a few years later, we knew we would feel a lot better about the attention if we were able to do something positive with it. So we created a non-profit foundation called Smile on Cancer. What we try to do is, Greenville is a big research center for cancer and they have a lot of events and have parks dedicated to survivors and things like that. So we try to raise money to bring some joy to the journey for those families supporting loved ones battling a disease, the Children's Hospital, and also to help sponsor some events. So it's been really good.

Peter Boulden
0:06:17
Regardless of the cancer or is it specific to the ones that affected your family? Meaning are you on this mission?

Rich Constantine
0:06:25
No, no specific one. Her dad was, or her mom was ovarian cancer and my dad was Burkitt's lymphoma. So yeah, but yeah, it's, there's too much to do to just keep us.

Peter Boulden
0:06:36
Wow. So, you know, like I said, like nothing happens by mistake. And so sometimes at the time you're thinking like, why is this happening? Why is this happening? Right. And then, and then it's to shine the light on something that's near and dear to your heart. Right.

Rich Constantine
0:06:50
Yeah, and I think even more so that has been extremely beneficial. The things that I'm speaking to people with about now is a lot about handling the transition into something that comes unexpectedly and learning how to be present and to enjoy the moments instead of always regretting or being anxious about things, to just really dial

Craig Spodak
0:07:09
it back and bring yourself back to the moment and be thankful for what you have. That's awesome. Yeah, because you literally like… Yeah, that's SmileOnCancer.org. SmileOnCancer.org. Just for people to check it out. It's actually, I think we did a redesign. It's actually.com now. Oh, wow. Okay, well, SmileOnCancer.org works well. Okay. So you can go either place. Okay.

Peter Boulden
0:07:34
So, Rich, I do want to talk… Oh, yeah, they're both live. I want to talk about the precipitating event, obviously, right? Of what happened again and you dancing and going viral and kind of like you said, going from one day being a guy just trying to hustle like the rest of us to all of a sudden, you know, phones are now ringing off the hook, you know, and you're in the zone of like, how do I manage all of this attention, if you will?

Rich Constantine
0:08:03
Yeah, so the funny thing is this happened three weeks after a practice merger. So I bought another practice, merged it with mine to fill out the building that I built. And my team is only so big, right? So I'm having to handle all these things. So it was a lot at one time. Our team ended up doubling within the course of four months. Added rooms, added equipment.

Peter Boulden
0:08:29
New patient numbers went up pretty quick.

Rich Constantine
0:08:31
Yeah, like we've only, I built my building seven years ago and we're already doing a very expensive remodel that is taking place right now. Just because we didn't anticipate this and when you build a building you never really know how you're going to use the space.

Peter Boulden
0:08:47
But just the way that things have headed, we have to do it. That's awesome. Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah, I love how you put things in perspective, right, in the context of it's a blessing, I'm living day by day, but I'm also not going to not take the ride. I'm not going to not take advantage of the blessing, right? And you're going to monetize it and use it at best to support you and your family and even the charitable things that you want to work with.

Rich Constantine
0:09:13
Yeah, I think a lot of what I learned also is that a lot of people think that when you have success on social media that every like is a dollar, and I promise you that it is not. And I've probably spent more money keeping this going and being involved in the opportunities that have been presented to me than has actually come in. So it's been a lot of fun.

Peter Boulden
0:09:35
Yeah, I remember, Craig, I remember us talking about Rich, right, and we were like, we gotta have him on the podcast. And my theory was, I was like, I bet he has just a bunch of like tire kicker consults where they really don't care about getting cosmetics done or implants done or general dentistry. They just want some time. They want proximity to the fame. Right?

27
0:09:55
Yeah.

Peter Boulden
0:09:55
And so that's that was my hypothesis. When before we knew you, I told Craig that I was like, you know, I bet it's kind of a pain

Rich Constantine
0:10:02
in the ass sometimes.

Rich Constantine
0:10:03
Yeah, it was a lot of time consuming things, not only from that standpoint, but also me being so new and naive to everything, you want to say yes to everything because you don't know necessarily what's going to pan out. Right. And so you're getting advice from all kinds of people, and then you're also getting people's opinions when you choose to go one direction or another. And that was tough to handle too, because I mean, I was just a guy trying to navigate something totally new.

Peter Boulden
0:10:29
Was anyone like mentoring through this or you just like in blue ocean all by yourself?

Rich Constantine
0:10:33
Yeah I had a person that had done some marketing for me in the past kind of reach out and help guide me through everything and help manage a lot of the the the opportunities that were coming my way. Yeah. Still like I was still being I still felt like I had to put out there the thing, the one thing that made me so uncomfortable is because that was what the people wanted.

Peter Boulden
0:10:56
That's what the people wanted. That's what the people wanted. Henry, you're the dancing dentist. You better dance.

Rich Constantine
0:11:01
Yeah.

Peter Boulden
0:11:02
You better dance. Exactly. And so you had some pressure like with the, oh shit, now I've got to have level two, level three dance. Yeah. You felt this. Not only do you have to be a dentist and run your business and market your business, well, probably you'd have to market it in that time frame because it was marketing for you. But I always say in dentistry, we have so much to do. Not only just doing the craft of dentistry, which is challenging enough as it is, we have to manage employees and then grow the practice and then think about expanding and then doing all the things. And so a lot of us get into these entrepreneurial seizures where it's like, oh my gosh, it's too much.

Rich Constantine
0:11:33
I was just telling somebody the other day, when I first started practicing, people would ask, oh, you're off Fridays. I used to just laugh it off, right? And now I'm dead serious, look at, I'm like, look, dude, I run a business, and I'm there on Fridays and Saturdays. I'm just not seeing patients. I'm there a lot.

Peter Boulden
0:11:52
It's a seven, it truly is. On the come up, it's a seven day a week job, I can tell you, right? You're practicing just because you're not physically spinning the burr for three of those four days.

Craig Spodak
0:12:03
I hate that.

Rich Constantine
0:12:04
I hate that idea.

Craig Spodak
0:12:05
It is frustrating.

Rich Constantine
0:12:06
I hate that idea.

Peter Boulden
0:12:07
But in the come up when you're growing, it literally is, depending upon your hustle, you're constantly thinking about your business, i.e. your practice, right? But so many of us, I remember watching Yumi, like, damn it, he just got probably $3 million of advertising for free, you know? Like, I don't know, net, net, what it, you know, but it's like, it's such like an, not an easy button because you obviously had to fulfill that, but like, everyone in marketing, you know, I don't know how much you listen to our pod or if you ever have at all, but like we talk about the business and the marketing and stuff and so like to me that would have been like such an, you know, I wouldn't have wanted to be the talent like you, but I would have loved to hit that easy button and been like, bring them on, bring them on, come on in!

Rich Constantine
0:12:51
Well, it's definitely challenging because I think people, a lot of people in dentistry are so growth minded people, like people that would listen to your podcast and be seeking out this information.

Peter Boulden
0:13:01
You think a lot of people in dentistry are growth minded?

Rich Constantine
0:13:03
The ones I surround, well I think we tend to notice the people that we surround ourselves with. So there's a lot of people that aren't. Correct. But the people we surround ourselves with are constantly driving us to do new things.

Peter Boulden
0:13:13
Correct. What do you think about that comment?

Rich Constantine
0:13:14
It can almost be stressful because there's like no end. And like there is no, you're growth minded. So you're always looking for there's no, there's no, you're never done.

Peter Boulden
0:13:23
Yeah. And so you think that's a blessing or a curse?

Peter Boulden
0:13:26
I think it's both. Yeah. Good answer. I like this guy. I tell you what, Richard, too bad you don't live in Atlanta. We'd be boys. We could still be boys, but we can't hang out and drink beers like boys.

Peter Boulden
0:13:40
You could be Zoom boys.

Peter Boulden
0:13:41
Do you?

Peter Boulden
0:13:42
What'd you say?

Rich Constantine
0:13:43
You could be Zoom boys.

Peter Boulden
0:13:44
Zoom boys, yes. Yes.

Craig Spodak
0:13:46
You could be them boys.

Peter Boulden
0:13:49
OK, stop what you're doing. The Bulletproof Summit is coming at you June 3rd and 4th at the Grand Hyatt in Nashville. The Grand Hyatt is located in the Gulch, which, as most of you know, is the best area of Nash Vegas. So we'll be featuring new, never done before Bulletproof tracks for doctors, team, and hygienists. Tickets are already half gone for this event and it will sell out like all previous years. This is the biggest no-brainer in dentistry. If you want to elevate yourself, your team, and your practice, check it out. Bulletproofsummit.com. We'll see you there.

Craig Spodak
0:14:31
Hey, Rich, I want to ask you something, too. I have the luxury of being here on my phone, at my desktop, and just kind of cruising through your social media and looking at the foundation. One of the things that strikes me, I mean, I saw naturally like the rest of the planet I saw your viral video and what struck me is like you were just comfortable in your own skin specifically that that very first video it was just you being playful and just being easy and I see this this force of nature that's standing beside you you know with your girl and you know Trish and she's I see that you guys have been together since 2005. Does that mean you've been married for 17 years? Is that correct?

Rich Constantine
0:15:19
Yeah, this summer is our 17th wedding anniversary.

Rich Constantine
0:15:21
Wow, good for you.

Craig Spodak
0:15:23
Holy smokes. And so like my sense, looking at your Instagram and her Instagram, we actually have a couple friends. My buddy Christian Vandervelde lives in South Carolina. I was with him on New Year's. I think you know his wife. We're connected on social media together.

Rich Constantine
0:15:38
We did cycle bar together.

24
0:15:40
Yeah, Leah.

Craig Spodak
0:15:41
Yeah, Leah, she's a machine. Christian won the Tour de France, so he's pretty much a machine as well. But I'm looking through your whole history here, and there's just a lot of you and your wife. And I'm looking, and correct me if I'm wrong, but that feels to me like that's a massive source of inspiration for you. Can you talk to me about how you met her and all that because I think that's really kind of key, at least what I'm perceiving, a key cog to who you are.

Rich Constantine
0:16:08
Yeah, Trish and I met in college at Ohio University. We were both athletes. She was a swimmer and I played football. I think early on we just cherished our time by ourselves so much because so much of it was occupied with either school or sports that when we had free time we wanted to either be by ourselves or with each other and we had that open conversation when we first started dating like hey I just want to let you know if I want to hang with the boys I'm gonna hang with the boys and she said the same thing about the girls and then it turned out that we did that a couple of times but then every time we had free time we just hung out together and I think just the connection that we had with those things in common and then being there for each other, her working while I was in dental school and then have that happen to our parents and then us making the decision to create our own lives and not settle in one of our hometowns and then the businesses and things that we've built together. Every experience has made the relationship stronger. That's not to say that it definitely doesn't have its challenges, but we are always the backbone for each other in things that we do.

Rich Constantine
0:17:29
That's awesome.

Craig Spodak
0:17:30
And she runs the charity? What is she doing?

Rich Constantine
0:17:33
She does. She also runs my office right now for the time being.

Peter Boulden
0:17:39
Because it's crazy growth?

Rich Constantine
0:17:40
Yeah, with all the growth it was either, hey, you continue to do what you're doing and we hire somebody that we don't know and don't know if we can trust to do a job that's very important to us or do we build this together. The reward has been great, but the challenges have been that neither one of us are good at not letting the workday blend into our lives.

Craig Spodak
0:18:04
I grew up in a household life at risk. My mom used to work the front desk in the explosive and my dad was the desk. I just remember during dinner conversations, like, Hey, Mr. Smith, did she preach football

22
0:18:16
to you?

Peter Boulden
0:18:17
There's no delineation of personal life.

Craig Spodak
0:18:19
I remember thinking, my wife is not involved at all and I think Pete as well is not involved in his business. It is at a certain point, it's a joy because you want to tell a story and you're like, you know what, it's too long, they wouldn't understand. So you don't talk about it. So I can appreciate that and I hope that you guys can find your balance through that.

Rich Constantine
0:18:44
We're definitely working on starting to try to replace ourselves with several of the roles that we are currently undertaking.

Peter Boulden
0:18:52
So what are you speaking on here? Like I see you've got the Hinman speaking badge. So what is the actual title of your topic?

Rich Constantine
0:19:00
It's called Rediscover Your Authentic Self, Gain Greater Satisfaction in Life. And it starts off with my experience of handling something like a viral video. And then we go through steps in taking for not only the physical management of stress, but also the mental management of stress. So it's more along the lines of self-improvement, motivational type speech.

Peter Boulden
0:19:22
Did you talk about this kind of stuff before all of this?

Peter Boulden
0:19:24
No.

Peter Boulden
0:19:25
So this has come from…

Peter Boulden
0:19:26
Wow.

Peter Boulden
0:19:27
There's a lot that has been birthed from that. Yes.

Rich Constantine
0:19:30
That's incredible.

Peter Boulden
0:19:31
Yeah. Yeah, there's no mistakes in life, right? Things just happen and then, you know, you're kind of chosen to do that, so that's awesome. What, tell me something like your dreams and aspirations, like where are you wanting to go with dentistry? Yeah, tell me, tell me like, tell me what Rich wants to do. If I'm talking to Rich at Craig's ripe old age of 62, what would he…

Craig Spodak
0:19:55
Hey, P, you better watch out. Brittany will throat punch you.

Peter Boulden
0:19:59
No, no, no, she's not, she's not.

Peter Boulden
0:20:01
She's actually, she was the first one. She's giggling so hard her shoulders are moving actually.

Peter Boulden
0:20:05
So, um.

Craig Spodak
0:20:06
Be careful. So, what, what.

Peter Boulden
0:20:08
Yeah, my shoulders are twitching.

20
0:20:09
Yeah, that's right.

Peter Boulden
0:20:10
So, tell me, tell me what, like, looking back, what do you want to see, let's just take you as, take the fame and celebrity out of it. I want to know you as a dentist. What are you, what are you aspiring to do with your profession?

Rich Constantine
0:20:26
So again, being a growth minded person, that changes quite frequently. Because you see somebody else doing something and you're like, man, maybe that might be the right path to go to. But currently, what it is, is to continue to grow the practice, but make my ideal days. So when I'm in there, I'm doing the procedures that I want to do and nothing else. So we brought on a younger associate who's been very good and is very hungry and very good at what he does. And that has allowed us the time and focus to bring in more surgeries, block off portions of our schedules, introduce new equipment and techniques into the practice. And then eventually, you know, we would like to probably scale back on the number of days that I'm in there and start to…

Peter Boulden
0:21:12
How many days are you now?

Rich Constantine
0:21:14
I'm the typical four or five. Four days, okay. But to tell you the truth, the last couple of months as I was preparing for the hymn, I took Mondays off to focus on the speech and it really didn't hurt our production or collections at all. And so we see that now and I don't plan… So now you're three?

Peter Boulden
0:21:34
No, I don't think I'm going to say anything. I'm about to go with something that I think you're, I love where you're tracking. Because I think there's a magic recipe with dentistry. If you can be efficient and you're entrepreneurial and be very effective with your time, like it's fascinating when someone goes from five to four to three and then they're like, wait a second, I haven't taken that much of a haircut, right? But it's almost like in dental school. How long did you go to school? When did you graduate?

Rich Constantine
0:22:00
2009.

Peter Boulden
0:22:01
2009. I remember that like look they're like hey you have you have three hours to prep this crown. You used it all. I used every second of it. Every second of it, right? And then you know and then when you got a private project it's all the same like wait I have how long and all of a sudden it's like even better quality with shorter amount of time so you get more efficient with your bandwidth is where I'm going and I think that applies and I think but I think there's a point of diminishing returns is like you can't obviously just keep reducing days and expect to produce the same amount or collective dentistry.

Rich Constantine
0:22:30
Right.

Peter Boulden
0:22:31
Right. But I love your you're like man I took some time off to prepare for this and like nothing's happened you know I would have thought I would have had a 25% reduction right you probably

Rich Constantine
0:22:41
thought that. Yeah.

Peter Boulden
0:22:43
So that's awesome.

Rich Constantine
0:22:44
That's awesome. Definitely takes some different attention and focus but the problem the problem was on the days that I wasn't there, guess who was there still? Your wife. She was. Yeah. So that's not the type of days off that we want.

Rich Constantine
0:22:57
Yeah, yeah.

Peter Boulden
0:22:58
Because it was your friend that was like, wait, you got to work?

Peter Boulden
0:23:00
I don't got to work.

Peter Boulden
0:23:03
Ladies, Bulletproof. So I don't know if you're familiar with it. They're the Bulletproof Hygiene. They run an independent practice. They have the book right here. Rich, you should take this back for your Bulletproof Hygiene. That's our book. You know, we don't have, we don't have, you can have, well, but then I have nothing to display. I tell you what, we will send you, we will send you copies of both, but these are very special ladies, so, and I don't know if you have any questions for them. I feel like we've been taught asking you questions. You have any questions for us? Anything

Rich Constantine
0:23:34
you want to kind of, I think I'm going to save my questions for when the mic is off. I don't want my team to hear some of the questions.

Peter Boulden
0:23:40
Okay. All right.

Peter Boulden
0:23:42
Well, Craig, I'm going to wrap with our buddy here. Do you have anything in closing?

Craig Spodak
0:23:48
Well, first of all, this was the first day of the Hinman, so your speeches went. Did they enter tomorrow?

Rich Constantine
0:23:55
They were today. I did two today.

Peter Boulden
0:23:57
Oh, wow, two.

Craig Spodak
0:23:58
Okay, so they're all done.

Rich Constantine
0:23:59
Yeah, they're done.

Rich Constantine
0:24:00
Why? Were they over-subscribed?

Craig Spodak
0:24:01
Have you spoken on this talk?

Peter Boulden
0:24:03
Why did you have to do two.

Peter Boulden
0:24:03
Why did I do two talks?

Rich Constantine
0:24:04
Yeah, you wanted to do.

Peter Boulden
0:24:06
No, no, no. Wait, I'm so curious.

Peter Boulden
0:24:07
Why? I mean, you didn't just have one block of speaker time. They said you have to do it two times. They asked me to do two times.

Rich Constantine
0:24:13
Yeah. What? Because you were so oversubscribed. This is it. This is amazing. Well, I think up until last week, I thought I was giving it to 25 people

Rich Constantine
0:24:21
because they sent me a picture of the rooms because I needed to know how that set up was. And he called me last week and he said, hey I just want to let you know we had to move your room. I said, no problem, why? He said, because you have over 400 people signed up for your sessions. I said, alright.

Peter Boulden
0:24:35
So you're like, I'm taking Monday's off to prepare. This is no more Mickey Mouse. There's a whole new level. I can't blow it. I can't re-record. I can't re-record my dance like on my phone. I'm kidding. I'm going to be live.

Craig Spodak
0:24:50
How did you feel about it, Rich?

Rich Constantine
0:24:54
How did you feel it went? I felt really good once I got into it, just like a lot of the things that we do in life where we build it up to be something that it's not and it takes away from it. But once I started getting going and just did what I had practiced and felt the energy from everybody, that was the main thing, just the energy of everybody here and them being open and polite and everything. I think I was nervous when I wrote it how many people it would relate to and just seeing

Craig Spodak
0:25:22
that it did felt really good.

Rich Constantine
0:25:25
I was wondering… Yeah, one thing. Go ahead, go ahead. Do you listen to our… Rich, do you listen to the pod?

Peter Boulden
0:25:30
Yeah, I do.

Rich Constantine
0:25:31
I have had many, many talks on some things. Yeah, we'll stop for a little bit.

Craig Spodak
0:25:47
Has he told you it's been helpful?

Rich Constantine
0:25:50
Oh yeah, for sure. He definitely has.

Peter Boulden
0:25:52
Yeah, he's one of our masterminders, Brittany Sharif. Craig, this seems like very self-serving questions, by the way. You're wasting our time with Rich to talk about us.

Rich Constantine
0:26:01
I don't feel that way.

Craig Spodak
0:26:02
No, no, no, because I ask because I know if there are certain people, it's not just the information but it's being a person that's ready to learn. And for Peter and I, sometimes it's tough because we want to help, our goal is to try to help people. And there's just sometimes so much that stands in the way of trying to help people. And Will's not that guy. You know, Will's a guy that's going to take things and radically shift. That's really rewarding, not just for us but for the other person as well. That's why I asked because he's a rock star and he's making big moves. One thing I wanted to say and the reason I asked if you listen to our podcast is because is this the first time you've done a rim that's 400 or have you done larger than that?

Rich Constantine
0:26:49
No, these are, yeah, by far the biggest that I've given.

Craig Spodak
0:26:53
Yeah, and since you're talking about like self-help and personal journey, one thing that Peter and I always do, and I know you're asking, but I think it's just important for anybody else that might be listening to this in the future, is before Peter and I go up on any Bulletproof event or something like that, we always just kind of say a prayer, basically. And it's just like, let's just help one person. Because, right, the definition of, if you could just help one person, then your journey as a handman was a success. So, out of 400 people, you helped dozens, if not the whole damn room. But I think it's just always nice to think about just one person just needs to hear the message. And dentistry, as you know, is a lonely place. And I think that since you're in that space of trying to help people along the journey, then that just makes it easy to win every single time.

Rich Constantine
0:27:39
Yeah, that's great.

Peter Boulden
0:27:41
It really is true. Actually, Craig, I was telling you I was recording some stuff today. It was about that podcast I was trying to do on peak performance. I'm a big biohacker, Rich, and I'm into crazy stuff. So I begged Craig to let me do a solo ride of talking about sleep and this.

Rich Constantine
0:27:56
Is that how you guys came up with the Bulletproof?

Peter Boulden
0:27:58
No, believe it or not. Everyone always asks that. The name came up bulletproof because I just felt like it was a cool name because I felt like there was always these things coming at you in dentistry. DSOs and PPOs. It felt like you get attacked as a practitioner and then on your way up, sometimes on your come up, then you're being attacked from the people who don't like you coming up. Other people, other dentists. You know sometimes. It's like why why does he get to be that way, and I don't and You know I love the idea of that resiliency though, too

Craig Spodak
0:28:33
So like the idea that things are gonna happen to you in life You're gonna actually be shot at right, but that they're gonna bounce off of you, and if you look at the book cover It's like in Boston books. Oh, yeah, you know in life. You're gonna get your ass kicked You're gonna have things that come at you. I mean, look at the two family members for you as one example in 18 months and the idea that you pull yourself together, like that image of that wolf that's been shot with arrows, broken arrows all in the back. I love that. Well, Peter and I just we resonate with the idea that your resiliency is one of the most powerful traits and that's

Peter Boulden
0:29:10
what bulletproof is, it's almost like this rat race where everybody is trying to be like everybody

Peter Boulden
0:29:17
else instead of just being who you are and valuing what you want and then finding your

Rich Constantine
0:29:18
lane in that.

Peter Boulden
0:29:19
Yeah, 100%. People are suffering because they are not what they think they should be, what they

Peter Boulden
0:29:21
should be.

Rich Constantine
0:29:22
I think that's the problem.

Peter Boulden
0:29:23
I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem.

Peter Boulden
0:29:27
I think that's the problem.

Peter Boulden
0:29:28
I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem.

Peter Boulden
0:29:32
I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem.

Craig Spodak
0:29:34
I think that's the problem.

Rich Constantine
0:29:35
I think that's the problem.

Rich Constantine
0:29:36
I think that's the problem.

Craig Spodak
0:29:37
I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem.

Craig Spodak
0:29:39
I think that's the problem. I think that's the problem. People are suffering because they are not what they think they should be. They should be active to see what they are. It's not like if I get this then I get that or just being happy where you are. If you can't find happiness today you won't find it tomorrow or in the future.

Peter Boulden
0:29:58
You have to figure out a way to be happy today in your own skin, in your own situation. Well hopefully you can come and I don't know if you can come to our summit in Nashville and we'd love to have you there and chill out. You don't even have to be the talent for once. You can just come as a dentist and hang out with us. The Bulletproof team will be there, Bulletproof hygiene gals, Bulletproof and of course Craig and I. So it's in Nashville in the summer. So we'd love to have you come, man. Awesome, man. Be our guest. Be our guest. Craig, I'm going to let him roll because I think there's a lot of people who want some some rich time. Awesome,

Craig Spodak
0:30:29
awesome, awesome. Rich, I really appreciate it. I want to get to see you. Next time I'm in Greenville, I'll hit you up because I am there quite frequently and if you're in Florida before that, let me know and I'd love to meet with you. And congrats on doing this awesome stuff for dentistry. That's awesome. You're serving like that. Thank you. Alright everybody, we'll see you next
